At IMTS 2014: 5-Axis Milling Machines LU-620 and LU-800 from MC Machinery Systems

MC Machinery will have two of its rigid, precision LU series 5-axis milling machines on exhibit at the upcoming IMTS 2014 show on September 8-13, 2014.

The LU-620 and LU-800 cover a range of travels, rotary table sizes, capabilities, and footprints, so one or both of these two 5-axis milling machines well-suited to any shop’s needs.

The compact LU-620 takes up less room on the shop floor but packs in big machine strength and precision with features including a Meehanite-cast base designed to support the B/C axes, while the large cast, boxed construction supports the X, Y, and Z axes cross slide assembly.

The LU-800 works wonders for high-powered, medium- to large- component machining without sacrificing accuracy. The machine’s gantry construction is designed to handle heavy workpieces while achieving world-class precision.

Both the LU-620 and LU-800 feature an Advanced Technology Direct Coupled Spindle. Boasting the highest rotational stability with compound ceramic bearings at 12,000 RPM, this spindle ensures the highest torque at lower RPM ranges.

Staying in control keeps chips flying. Heidenhain iTNC-530 HSCi 5-axis controls give these machines the capability of 0.5ms block processing speeds, plus many software enhancements to provide a smooth finish.

Plus, both machines use Finite Element Analysis to calculate the optimal combination of cast iron components and rib structures. This not only maximizes efficiency but saves time and overall improves productivity.
