A Shop Back from the Brink

Our friends north of the border at Millomat Stampings are getting attention from a major Canadian trade publication for their recent implementation of some new Mitsubishi laser technology. After adding a 3,500 kW eX series 2D laser  a few years ago, they decided in 2014 to continue investing with the addition of a 6,000 kW laser. It’s helping them perform all kinds of jobs including inch-thick stainless steel cuts that have dramatically grown the business.

The September Shop Metalworking Technology article tells how the Mississauga, Ontario shop’s capital investments—made while on the brink of bankruptcy—have brought the shop back. Today, with 80% of their work centering on laser cutting, Millomat is thriving.

“These guys at Mitsubishi kept our heart beating and so did our customers because they gave us what they promised in business for the laser cutting machine,” Mani Sehmbi, Millomat’s Vice President of Operations says in the article.
