New CO2 Laser System Offers Superior Cutting Performance at an Entry-Level Price

MC Machinery announced the release of its 3015 SR CO2 laser system that combines high-quality cutting, improved productivity and exceptional value. The SR features the fifth generation of the Flying Optic system and construction based on its popular predecessor, the eX-S.

Like the eX-S, the SR is designed to meet the most demanding manufacturing challenges—built with solid dianite machine casting for high rigidity and stability. Oversized precision linear guides on both X and Y axes help maintain consistent performance over the life of the machine. The machine also features helical rack and pinion on the X and Y for faster, quieter operation.

Built for Mitsubishi lasers by Mitsubishi, the XS-Series Head accommodates 5.0” and 7.5” focal lengths, incorporates features like cartridge recognition that eliminates refocusing between changes, centering at the cartridge instead of the head, which allows easier nozzle centering and Jet Pierce for aggressive piercing of challenging materials like mild steel.

Improvements to the 2,700-watt resonator and beam quality allow for 40 percent speed gains in thick plate cuts, up to 80 percent better surface finish quality on stainless steel cuts, and 60 percent faster gas change time than previous offerings in the class. Plus, available ECO Mode provides energy savings.

The updated Mitsubishi touchscreen color control provides an intuitive user experience with a faster graphical interface, USB compatibility and expanded programming option. The self-contained system affords users 20GB of memory.
