Applications Engineers work to develop processes to enhance customer production by utilizing product analysis and demonstrations. In collaboration with sales they will prepare and carry out marketing efforts for the purpose of securing business from prospective customers. On a day to day basis the Applications Engineer will analyze and develop manufacturing processes, determine best training methodologies for customers and build demonstration techniques in an effort to improve/enhance the performance of industrial machinery. Ability to operate, program and troubleshoot full line of Mitsubishi Sinker EDM machines. Work with customers to optimize the usage of the machine and apply to their particular needs and settings. Ability to independently diagnose and treat a variety of problems or situations and modify as deemed necessary.

MC Machinery’s Pre-sales, Sales and Installation staff develops innovative solutions from the ground up. They can complement an existing operation with new hardware, software and processes to eliminate bottlenecks, improve accuracy and drive throughput. Our Applications group offers consultative support for new and existing customers while our regionalized Service Network is the most advanced and responsive team in the industry.




  • Develop and analyze customer needs and prepare demonstrations and reports for pre-sales activities for sales and potential and current customers.
  • Provide high power processing training to customers (and in some events other MC Machinery employees) with the overall intention of instructing and/or recommending methods that will improve and/or enhance the performance of the machinery and optimize its usage for their particular needs.
  • Review, evaluate, and resolve machine maintenance and applications-related problems at customer sites with the overall intention of improving and enhancing the performance of the customer’s milling machinery.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment to evaluate, diagnose, and provide timely, appropriate responses and resolutions to customer reports, and as necessary, determine who else at MC Machinery to involve in customer problem solving.
  • Increase sales and MC Machinery revenue by identifying customer opportunities for sales.
  • Collaborate with applications personnel to develop and implement marketing strategies.
  • Create solutions for customers in addressing machine maintenance and applications-related problems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to operate, program, and troubleshoot EDM machinery.
  • High level of customer service.
  • CNC programming skills.
  • Ability to operate computer using windows operating systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and organized.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time to customers, trade shows, events.


  • Associates degree in Manufacturing Technology or equivalent.
  • 5 Year’s minimum experience in a pre-sales position in machinery or manufacturing.
  • 5 Years’ experience operating, programming, or repairing EDM machinery.
