Automation Specialist - Machine Tool Solutions

The Automation Specialist provides skilled technical support for all levels of automation requirements as they are integrated with MC Machinery products. The candidate will be required to exercise independent judgment and discretion to resolve application-related automation operation issues for our company and our customers. In addition, the incumbent must be able to determine the best training methodologies for our staff and our customers on how to operate the automation solution in an effort to improve and/or enhance the performance of our supplied solution. Additionally the candidate will be required to collaborate with our sales, service and applications staff to prepare Bills of Materials, CAD Drawings, Ordering Instructions, Operation Instructions, Training and support.  Finally, the successful candidate will be capable of assisting our sales team in defining the scope of supply for our customers and from time to time join our team on sales calls and demonstrations.


MC Machinery’s Pre-sales, Sales and Installation staff develops innovative solutions from the ground up. They can complement an existing operation with new hardware, software and processes to eliminate bottlenecks, improve accuracy and drive throughput. Our Applications group offers consultative support for new and existing customers while our regionalized Service Network is the most advanced and responsive team in the industry.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project manage and support the successful implementation of off the shelf automation solutions by our vendor partners. Partners include but are not limited to the following: System 3R / Erowa / Fanuc / Mitsubishi Electric Automation (MEAU) / OPS Ingersoll Automation and 3rd Party Integrators of automation as contracted. These will all include Automation Projects as they are integrated with our primary products of machine tools. These include (Sinker EDM, Wire EDM, Vertical Machining Centers, 5 Axis Machining Centers and CNC Turning Centers).
  • Experience in PLC programming and DNC interface knowledge will be required.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Solidworks.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Working with customers in a Pre-Sales solutions driven environment.
  • Supervisory experience preferred but not mandatory. Training can be provided in management practices and on CAD software for the right candidate.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Technical degree or certificate in robotics, CAD, CNC controls or combination of experience and training.
  • 5 Year’s minimum experience in implementation of automation solutions preferred.
