SUMMARY: Primary purpose of this job function is to provide skilled technical support for all levels of automation requirements as they are integrated with MC Machinery products. The candidate will be required to exercise independent judgment and discretion to resolve application-related automation operation issues for our company and our customers. In addition, the incumbent must be able to determine the best training methodologies for our staff and our customers on how to operate the automation solution in an effort to improve and/or enhance the performance of our supplied solution.  Additionally the candidate will be required to collaborate with our sales, service and applications staff to prepare Bills of Materials Including Excel Sheets and PPT, CAD Drawings, Ordering Instructions, Operation Instructions, Training and support.  Finally, the successful candidate will be capable of assisting our sales team in defining the scope of supply for our customers and from time to time join our team on sales calls and demonstrations.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS

May include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Project manage and support the successful implementation of off the shelf automation solutions by our vendor partners. Work with the factory on current designs improvements for our N. America Market. Understand the competitive layout to communicate to the factory. Responsible for MMS to stay ahead of the competitor in regards to automation.  As well as work on custom “river” layouts. of lasers.  Additionally, experience in PLC programming and DNC interface knowledge is a big added benefit to the position.

Travel will be required.  MC Machinery estimates that travel would be limited to approximately 25% in any given year for this position.  The travel requirement may vary from one day to 5 days in any given week.  Weekends are not required. 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Initially there will be no supervisory requirements, however, the successful candidate will be required to coach, mentor and train our staff of Sales, and applications engineers in the proper sales techniques for implementing and operating the automation solution.

 

Qualifications

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES REQUIRED:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily The chosen candidate will have excellent written and oral skills.  The preferred candidate will likely have experience with AutoCAD, Solidworks, Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.  Supervisory experience preferred but not mandatory.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the fabrication industry implementation of automation solutions with CNC machine tools is preferred. Technical college and training certificates for programming robotics, CAD, and machine CNC control are acceptable experience for consideration.
