SUMMARY: Primary purpose of this job function is to provide skilled technical support for all levels of automation requirements as they are integrated with MC Machinery products. The candidate will be required to exercise independent judgment and discretion to resolve application-related automation operation issues for our company and our customers. In addition, the incumbent must be able to determine the best training methodologies for our staff and our customers on how to operate the automation solution in an effort to improve and/or enhance the performance of our supplied solution.  Additionally the candidate will be required to collaborate with our sales, service and applications staff to prepare Bills of Materials, CAD Drawings, Ordering Instructions, Operation Instructions, Training and support.  Finally, the successful candidate will be capable of assisting our sales team in defining the scope of supply for our customers and from time to time join our team on sales calls and demonstrations.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Project manage and support the successful implementation of off the shelf automation solutions by our vendor partners. These partners include but are not limited to the following:

System 3R / Erowa / Fanuc / Mitsubishi Electric Automation (MEAU) / OPS Ingersoll Automation and 3rd Party Integrators of automation as contracted.  These will all include Automation Projects as they are integrated with our primary products of machine tools.  These include (Sinker EDM, Wire EDM, Vertical Machining Centers, 5 Axis Machining Centers and CNC Turning Centers) Additionally, experience in PLC programming and DNC interface knowledge will be required.

Travel will be required.  MC Machinery estimates that travel would be limited to approximately 25% in any given year for this position.  The travel requirement may vary from one day to 5 days in any given week.  Weekends are not required. 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Initially there will be no supervisory requirements, however, the successful candidate will be required to coach, mentor and train our staff of Sales, Service and applications engineers in the proper techniques for implementing and operating the automation solution.

 

Qualifications

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES REQUIRED:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  The chosen candidate will have excellent written and oral skills.  The preferred candidate will likely have experience with AutoCAD, Solidworks, Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.  Supervisory experience preferred but not mandatory. Training can be provided in management practices and on CAD software for the right candidate.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 5 years experience in the implementation of automation solutions with CNC machine tools is preferred. Technical college and training certificates for programming robotics, CAD, and machine CNC control are acceptable experience for consideration.
