Even though 71 percent of manufacturers didn’t attend a virtual event prior to the pandemic, more than 62 percent say they are planning to attend at least one such event in the coming year, according to a recent MC Machinery online survey of nearly 300 manufacturers.

The November 2021 survey of U.S. manufacturers found that the most popular virtual events are demos and webinars, followed by virtual trade shows and roundtables. Survey respondents find virtual events appealing because they are more convenient, take less time, don’t require travel and are usually free or low cost.

Survey respondents indicated that virtual events are a good way to learn about products and technology, garner knowledge from industry experts and make purchasing decisions.
