Michigan and Ohio’s “Mitsubishi Man” Retiring and Passing Baton to MC Machinery Sales Representative Jason Ayotte

Mark Hanley, a Mitsubishi fabrication equipment dealer in Michigan known as “the Mitsubishi Man,” is retiring this month and handing over the reins to MC Machinery Regional Sales Representative Jason Ayotte, a graduate of Western Michigan University with nearly 15 years of experience in capital equipment sales.

Hanley sold Mitsubishi lasers in Michigan for 31 years through RosCommon Machinery, his Ohio-based company that is a 10-time winner of Mitsubishi Dealer of the Year and one of the top three Mitsubishi fabrication equipment dealers in the U.S. to date.

Hanley started his career working for Amada as a fabrication salesperson in the early 1980s, selling shears, brakes and turret punches in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. With success came a growing territory that expanded into Michigan and further into Ohio.

Along with a growing territory, Hanley had a growing family. He decided to join MC Machinery in 1990 as a sales consultant, then became a distributor of Mitsubishi fabrication equipment in 1992.

Hanley said he was a distributor for MC Machinery for nearly three decades because of Mitsubishi’s continued production of high-quality, advanced machines and technology, the integrity of both MC Machinery and Mitsubishi, and the family environment that encompassed employees, dealers and customers.

“Mitsubishi has always had state-of-the-art equipment and technology,” he said. “They never put a prototype into the market. It has to be proven first. Mitsubishi is one giant think tank always improving. Not only that, MC Machinery and Mitsubishi treat people well. If a customer is struggling, they will go out and train over and over again until they get it. Once you are affiliated with MC Machinery, you are in the family and treated as such.”

Hanley is passing the baton to Ayotte, who has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and has worked in capital equipment sales for nearly 15 years, specializing in automation, lasers, press brakes and shears. He also has experience in machine design, project management and capital equipment procurement.

Ayotte is based in Rochester, Mich. and can be reached at Jason.ayotte@mcmachinery.com.
