When doing taper and four-axis cutting on the wire EDM, there is a certain point, if the angle gets steep enough, where certain components need to be changed out such as the flush cups and the diamond guides.   Tony Imbrogno is the new CEO of MC Machinery Systems—the first American CEO of the Mitsubishi Corp. subsidiary since its founding in 1978. An Addison, Ill. Native, Imbrogno earned a bachelor’s degree in electronic technology engineering from DeVry University in Chicago and completed the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management Finance for Executives program. Imbrogno began his career at MC Machinery in 1986 as a field service engineer and went on to hold management and executive positions, including his most recent seven-year stint as senior vice president of operations, customer service and support. MC Machinery Survey Finds that Online Events are Virtually Here to Stay

Even though 71 percent of manufacturers didn’t attend a virtual event prior to the pandemic, more than 62 percent say they are planning to attend at least one such event in the coming year, according to a recent MC Machinery online survey of nearly 300 manufacturers. The November 2021 survey of U.S. manufacturers found that the most popular virtual events are demos and webinars, followed by virtual trade shows and roundtables. Survey respondents find virtual events appealing because they are more convenient, take less time, don’t require travel and are usually free or low cost. Survey respondents indicated that virtual events are a good way to learn about products and technology, garner knowledge from industry experts and make purchasing decisions.
